Money Talks: Innovative Solutions to Promote America's Small Businesses

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus hosted a congressional staff briefing to examine challenges and solutions for small business growth, as well as fluctuations in small businesses employment across the United States.
The conversation began with the current macroeconomic climate, looking at the trends in public and private sector data, including the Intuit QuickBooks Small Business Index. Panelists also addressed small business challenges, including access to capital, and explored innovative policy and tech solutions to help small businesses grow and build prosperity within their communities.

The panel discussion was moderated by Angelena Bradfield, Head of Policy & Government Relations at the Financial Technology Association. The panel of experts included Ufuk Akcigit, Arnold C. Harberger Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago; LaJuanna Russell, President & CEO of Business Management Associates and a member of the Intuit Small Business Council; Sandy Clitter, member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Board of Directors; and Jon Taylor, CEO & Founder of Eveready Financial and Finseca member.
