Jump$tart Financial Literacy Day on the Hill

Reps. Beatty and Kim host Jump$tart's annual Financial Literacy Day on the Hill

The Jump$tart Coalition's annual Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill brings Members of Congress, staff members, financial literacy organizations, and the general public together to showcase the strides made in financial education programs and resources. The event is an exhibit fair featuring more than 50 Jump$tart Coalition National Partners and other key contributors to the financial literacy field.

Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill was introduced in 2003 by the Council for Economic Education, Junior Achievement, and the Jump$tart Coalition, with the office of the late U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka serving as the original honorary host. The venue alternates annually between the House of Representatives side and the Senate side of Capitol Hill.
This year, the event was hosted by Representatives Joyce Beatty and Young Kim, co-chairs of the Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus, in the Cannon Caucus Room on July 18, 2023, along with the Jump$tart Coalition and the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE).

The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington, D.C. The coalition consists of more than 100 national organizations and a network of 51 independent, affiliated state coalitions that share a commitment to advancing youth financial literacy. NEFE is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to improving the financial well-being of all Americans, educating Americans on a broad range of financial topics, and empowering them to make positive and sound decisions to reach their financial goals.
